what is VBC: THE ACCENT METHOD EXPLAINED?
The Accent Method comes from the spoken voice discipline. In its purest form it is a therapeutic voice treatment backed up by objective investigation. It addresses the entire vocal mechanism, training normal patterns of voice production, and de-conditioning faulty patterns. The process of learning is through a sequence of rhythmic exercises, with the emphasis on ‘doing’ not ‘thinking’. It has been embraced by singers at all stages of their careers, and more recently by brass and wind players, promoting flexible, dynamic and physiologically sound breath management for singing whilst the rhythmic exercises build strength, endurance and flexibility in the respiratory system.
how WILL THE COURSE work?
We are thrilled to be able to welcome back Linda Hutchison and Ron Morris for a week of 5 one-hour sessions dedicated entirely to the Accent Method. We had such positive feedback after our first Vocal Boot Camp and in particular, lots of enquiries about the Accent Method, so we listened to your thoughts and needs, and wanted to bring you more! This week will be a much more in depth look at what The Accent Method is, it’s foundations, and how you can put it into practice in your singing or teaching.
Whilst each session will be almost entirely practical, with Linda and Ron sharing their expertise, we will also spend a small part of the hour focusing on different aspects of the Accent Method.
WHEN? Every week-day morning at 10-11am 28th June - 2nd July PLUS One follow up question and answer session on the 19th July!
