FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME

a two-day weekend intensive COURSE

WHAT IS IT?

what is VBC: TEACHER TRAINING?

Get your teaching year off to a great start, with two days of continuing professional development for singing teachers, delivered by some of the UK’s leading professionals. Husband-and-wife team Giles Underwood and Carys Lane will refresh your warm-ups, giving you new ideas to share with your students. West End tenor and renowned singing teaching Alastair Brookshaw will be giving us tips and techniques for teaching a range of styles in your lessons. Dr Emma Silver will be sharing what she believes music teachers need to know about working with young people, from her perspective as a leading clinical psychologist and Director of Wellbeing at Highgate School. Nicola-Jane Kemp and Heidi Pegler (known to many as the editors of the “Language of Song” series from Faber Music) will be presenting a session on “bringing it all together” - how to harness all your knowledge to deliver a great singing lesson, every time.

In addition to all of this, four of the leading examination boards (ABRSM, Trinity, LCM, and Music Teachers Board) will be giving presentations about their singing syllabus, and taking your questions. This is your chance to find out what makes each exam board distinct from the others, what they offer, and figure out which exam boards is right for your pupils.

Hit the ground running in the first week of term, refreshed, inspired, and ready to take your singing teaching to the next level
